Welcome
Rhae Hooper – President WPATA

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the WPATA webpage. Your contact with us is important and we hope that you will find the information you seek about Transactional Analysis in Australia.

Founded in 1982 by Margaret and Jeff White, WPATA sought to meet the training and examining requirements in the Western Pacific Region.  In 2002 we gained mutual recognition of qualifications and training with the respective training bodies of ITAA and EATA.  As well, we have our own Australian accreditation and nationally recognized training offering Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in the field of psychotherapy.

Recently a new constitution was voted in and we are currently in the process of its implementation.  As a result of this, we will be forming a new regional body with our close neighbours in New Zealand, NZTAA.

First developed by Eric Berne MD, Transactional Analysis has evolved to include applications in the fields of Psychotherapy, Counselling, Organisational and Education.

For more information on the various aspects of the association and TA, please use the links and tabs on the website.   I invite you to explore, participate and enjoy our website.

Feel free to contact us if you require more information about TA in Australia.

HARVILLE HENDRIX - Sydney, February 2010 PDF Print

Attention practitioners who work with couples and all those who want a fantastic and lasting relationship.

Harville Hendrix is the author of “Getting the Love You Want” and “Keeping the Love You Find”.  He and his wife, Helen La Kelly Hunt have co-authored “Giving the Love that Heals” and “Receiving Love.”

They are the innovative thinkers behind Imago Relationship Therapy. Imago Relationship Therapy is a coherent and comprehensive theory and practice which enables practitioners to gain an in-depth understanding of relationship dynamics and an effective method for working with couples. Couples learn to create emotional safety and intimacy in their relationship, to move from reactivity to intentionality and to renew the love, passion and possibility of their life together.
